The most expensive house in Blowing Rock is something else

(Photos from High Country MLS via Zillow)
Check this out.
A sprawling mountain estate just 10 minutes from downtown Blowing Rock — they're calling it the "WOW House," and honestly, it's hard to argue with that. Some highlights:
Panoramic views down Wilson Creek Valley and across the eastern rim of Linville Gorge
Heated infinity pool with those views
Three en-suite primary bedrooms plus two bonus guest rooms
Chef's kitchen, media room, sauna
Private and secluded, but five minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway
It’s got three bedrooms, five baths and clocks in at about 6,300 sq. ft. Photos show it with a giant moosehead mounted about the fireplace, but that seems unlikely to come with any purchase you might make (?).
The asking price is $3.999 million. That’s after a $151,000 price cut on March 20. It’s on Scenic Trail Drive, west of Blowing Rock off of U.S. 221.
It's been sitting on Zillow for 78 days, as of Sunday, which is notable. At the ultra-luxury end of the market, that's not necessarily a red flag — buyers for properties like this move slowly and deliberately.
But it does suggest that even breathtaking views and an infinity pool have their limits when it comes to pricing. Whoever buys this isn't browsing on their lunch break.
The listing agent is Christopher Spangler of Howard Hanna Allen Tate Real Estate Blowing Rock.
